JPG Exif Reader View your photo EXIF info

In the early days of photography, photographers wrote down important information such as shutter speed, aperture and date of each photo they took. They would then use this information, going through one picture at a time, hoping that what they wrote actually corresponds to the right image. It was a very laborious process, especially when they wanted to know what went wrong when an image didn’t come out right.

These days every modern digital camera records this information along with many other settings in the photo file. These settings can then be later used to organize photographs, perform searches and provide vital information about the way the photo was captured.

That data is called “EXIF Data” and contains settings such as ISO speed, shutter speed, aperture, white balance, camera model and make, date and time, lens type, focal length and much more. The word “EXIF” means Exchangeable Image File Format.

  1. Select the photo file.
You also have the option to edit (or add) EXIF information to the photo.

Please note: this tool will save any image you upload to the server. The image will be retained for about 15 minutes in total. The uploaded image will be used to extract existing EXIF information. If you wish to edit or add EXIF information, a duplicate copy will be made and the edits (or additions) will be applied to the duplicate copy. You then have the option to download the edited image. After approximately 15 minutes, the uploaded image and any duplicates will be deleted entirely. The images and duplicates are not used in any way other than as described and not forwarded anywhere (other than an optional download for you).
